Fine Feeling To Win Opener In New Orleans

We had quite a week last week, staying in Indianapolis and preparing for our opener in extremely unusual circumstances. I'm extremely excited that we opened by beating the Bucs, who are a good team and a divisional opponent.

They won our division last year and they have a good offense and a good defense. Our defense played very well. We executed the things we needed to execute. They made a couple of big plays on us, and we need to clean that up. I'm confident that we will do that.

Overall, I think I played well. I made my reads and I made my tackles. There were a couple things I need to improve, but I liked the intensity of my defense and the way I played.

When I say I want to improve, I mean I want to get better at my timing and my reflexes. Having not played because of my injury, it took some time to get my speed up, my instincts to where I know they can be and where they are going to be. I know that I want to do things a split second faster and get to the spot faster. That's going to come.

A win like we had is huge for what we're trying to accomplish. We're a very together team and we know that we can trust each other. We know that when times are tough, we're going to come through for each other.

Playing in the Dome was a really great experience as a member of this team. I know it was loud, and that can be tough for the defense because we're trying to focus on getting our signals down and communicating. I know how hard it is for the other team when they are on the field. It is really, really loud in the Superdome.

Now we have to prepare for the Redskins. They are a team that is similar to Tampa Bay in that the first priority is to stop the run. Clinton Portis is one of the top five running backs in the league in my opinion. They are a physical team. They have had a couple of days of rest and they are going to look to get a win.

We have to be better. That's the goal. We want to improve every week. We're 1-0 and we have to keep pushing and moving in the right direction.
