We Have To Bounce Back From Tough Loss
Losing to the Redskins on Sunday was tough for all of us. But this is the NFL, and the mark of a good team is to bounce back from down times. We have to play down to the wire and win games at the end, and we didn't do that against Washington. That is something we have to work on. The defense, hey, sometimes we have to win a game.
Clinton Portis is a great running back. He showed us that we have to improve our run defense. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great, either. We have to contain better, shore up a couple of technical things on the defense and I think we will do that.
I'm coming along fine with the system and I think I'm fine with where I am at on the field. It's about where I expected to be, to be honest with you. I'm always trying to improve myself, so it's a matter of getting better each and every day.
This week, we play a Denver team that is coming off a huge win against San Diego. The Broncos historically run the ball very well. Jay Cutler is a good young quarterback who is not afraid to sling it in there. They're going to run the ball and then try to hit us with play-action passing. They've won two games. It's going to be a great challenge for us, and for our defense.
We have to make sure we take care of our assignments and put some pressure on the quarterback. We have to stop the run and bounce back from our loss.
Hey, this is the NFL. It's a long season. You can't get too high after a win and you can't get too low after a loss. We can't wait to get back out there and get back in the winning column.
