Preparing For Opener In Remote Location 

We've moved to Indianapolis for the week. We're living in a hotel and practicing at the Colts' new stadium and it is a different situation, to say the least. We're just hopeful that Hurricane Gustav goes off the coast a bit and spares New Orleans and the region some. We all are concerned about what is happening there as far as the damage and destruction from the storm.

Our focus, though, has to be on getting ready for the opener against Tampa Bay. Whether we have the game in New Orleans or in Tampa, it doesn't matters. What is important is that we don't use this inconvenience as an excuse. Coach Payton is looking at this like it's an extended road trip. We're going to be in a routine once it is established, and we will be ready to go against Tampa Bay.

The Bucs have a good team and an offense that can grind it out against you. They are a physical group, although I admit to not being as familiar with them since I have not played in the NFC.

For me, this is an exciting time. I am really looking forward to starting the season. I feel great. I like the scheme a lot. It fits into what I do and I know I will be in position to make a lot of plays and help this team.

We want to get off to a good start and get the momentum going in the right direction. Last year's team here started poorly and couldn't recover. We have to change that, starting Sunday.
