Great Win over the Atlanta Falcons Keeps Us Undefeated
Our win on Monday Night Football over the Atlanta Falcons was huge for us. We were able to hold on and beat the Falcons, our division rival, by a score of 35-27. Now we are 7-0 and 3 games up in the division, with 9 games left to play. I couldn’t be more pleased with the position we are in right now, but we still have to play strong every game. It was very key to be able to beat the division-rival Falcons on the big stage of Monday Night Football. We did not play a perfect game on either side of the ball, but we were able to come out on top and remain undefeated.
We played well enough on defense to get the win, but we never want to give up 27 points to our opponent. Roddy White, Michael Turner, and Matt Ryan and played tough, which forced us to step our game up to the highest level. Toward the end of the game, we got a little sloppy. We need to make sure we play consistent football and don’t give up any easy plays. I am happy that our defense was able to hold on for the victory, but we know we need to improve to get better for the long run.
The tough thing about being undefeated is that all the teams we face will be gunning for us and looking to knock us off. Our opponents will be preparing to play at their highest level, which takes a toll on our players as the weeks go by. It is definitely a disadvantage to play on Monday night because you lose a full day of preparing for the next week’s opponent and have to recover quickly. This game against the Falcons was very physical and tiring, so we will have to get extra rest this week and be smart about our decisions in preparation for our game against the Carolina Panthers.
The Panthers are coming off a great win over the Arizona Cardinals. Carolina has a great duo of running backs in DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. We will need to prepare for them as a running back pair, and take into consideration their individual qualities. Jonathan Stewart is very strong and can run you over, while DeAngelo Williams is very quick and physical. I am looking forward to the challenge of stopping them on Sunday.
