Good Win over the Carolina Panthers to Reach 8-0
We were able to record another victory against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday after a tough start. It feels great to still remain undefeated so far into the season, but we still have room for improvement, as we saw in the game vs. the Panthers. Carolina has two very tough running backs in DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. They both have a combination of strength, speed, and agility that can run through a defense if they are not contained. We struggled a little in the early part of the game to control their running game, but we were able to turn it around at halftime and come out on top. I am happy with the way we played in the second half; now we just need to play strong throughout the whole game to avoid digging ourselves out of holes.
We are confident that we can come from behind because we were able to beat Miami and Carolina after having a relatively large deficit at halftime. We do not want to be down at any point in the game, but it is reassuring to know we have the ability to make a comeback if we need to. We were able to force some key turnovers on defense in the second half and get a defensive touchdown, which put the momentum back in our favor. The game is 60 minutes, so as long as we can control the majority of the game, we will be able to play dominant football and come out with a victory at the end of the game. Overall, I thought this was a solid game for us. I was able to get into the backfield and make some plays to help our defense. We need to keep focusing on our opponent week-by-week and keep grinding it out.
We play the St. Louis Rams this Sunday in St. Louis. It is important to take every game as a new challenge and make sure we study game film and prepare hard for each new team. In the NFL, on any given Sunday, the best team will win, regardless of previous win-loss records, the media’s views, and the fans’ beliefs. The key is to face every team with a strong desire to win, because we know St. Louis will be hungry to beat us. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to play strong on defense and record another win.
I would like to say good luck to my Miami Hurricanes this weekend when they play Coach Butch Davis’ UNC Tar Heels this Saturday in Chapel Hill. Coach Davis is a great football mind and always has his team prepared for a challenge. I am excited to watch the game this Saturday and cheer on the Hurricanes. It will definitely be an interesting and important game for both teams. Miami has a slim chance of making it to the ACC Championship game if someone beats Georgia Tech and things fall in our favor. Butch Davis has not lost to Miami yet, and Randy Shannon has not beaten them yet. I am excited for some good college football!
