Jets vs. Dolphins

"Sunday was a great win for us. Maybe it wasn't the prettiest win we'll have all year, but a win is a win in the NFL and it's great to get the sour taste out of our mouths after the game against Jacksonville last week. It was also a division win for us. We're second in the AFC East behind the Patriots and we need to keep pace if we want to make a run for the playoffs.

We held on this time. No matter how close it was to being a blowout, we knew that the Dolphins would fight back and they did. Their offense did a great job; Joey Harrington looked good out there by making the throws when he had to. As a defense, though, we have to close things out; being up 20-3 we didn't need to make that game close. Towards the end of the game, we had dropped seven back, but the problem is that we were missing tackles out there. It wasn't that we were giving up a huge cushion. We were missing tackles that were turning what should have been six-yard passes into a 20-yard pickups. It made the defensive play-calling look a lot worse than it really was. When fans ask, "Why are you trying to give us a heart attack?" they should know that it gives me a heart attack when we make a game any closer than it needs to be..."
